The menu boasts a range of customizable options, with standouts like the vibrant chicken bowls that have captured the hearts of many guests. Laura Brockmeyer’s enthusiastic praises reflect a common sentiment: the taste is bursting with flavor, making it a superior choice among build-your-bowl restaurants.
However, it’s not just the bowls that shine. The mouthwatering Disco fries, creamy mac & cheese, and the famous Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich provide a comforting yet exciting array of dishes. Though some patrons, like Kennedy H, found the Nashville sandwich lacking in flavor, the delightful French Onion Soup and homemade chips were highly praised. Similarly, Caylee Penka highlighted the Smokehouse burger, perfectly complemented by crispy onion rings that even non-fans couldn’t resist.
Exceptional service is a key highlight at Express Kitchen. Guests like Dan Pankratz have commended the staff's willingness to go above and beyond, turning minor inconveniences into positive experiences. With outstanding attentiveness, the staff ensures that you feel valued and well taken care of from the moment you walk in.

I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and it didn’t have much flavor, pretty plain. The homemade chips were good and the French Onion Soup was some of the best we’ve ever had! The mac cheese was creamy but felt a little plain in flavor to me as well. The inside seating is small, only about 12 tables and small bar seating available, but there is outdoor seating! Be willing to wait for a table if during the busy times. Service was good! Price was 66 for 3 people with everything listed below.

Went to the newly remodeled Express Kitchen, and I'm only sad I didn't try it sooner! The food was absolutely bursting with flavor - We did the chicken bowls and everyone raved about how tasty it was! I would highly recommend this to my friends and coworkers instead of other build-your-bowl restaurants. Loved all the options for customizing and adding on different toppings. We will absolutely be back for more delicious bowls. (I do miss the salad and sandwich options The Kitchen used to have, and would LOVE to see them come back to this location.)

What a wonderful place to dine! We are in Wichita for the weekend celebrating my Birthday and I found this restaurant online and decided to come try. We were absolutely blown away by the food! Disco fries- AMAZING Mac & cheese with fried chicken- Smokehouse burger w/ onion rings- Mouth watering. I'm not a big onion ring fan, but I still tried one, Holy moly were those good! And the staff, we had more than 5 different people come and check on us and offer refills. What a great establishment and excellent customer service. We will for sure make trips to come back here for date nights! Our only disappointment is that we can't take out leftovers home because our hotel room doesn't have a fridge or microwave

Service was great, food was delicious, and all around a great experience. Our server was Jason and he did an amazing job, and was extremely nice and made the experience that much better!

Exceptional food and service. Our food got delayed a bit and Jason was super apologetic and gave us a couple appetizers on the house. A very classy act as most places would likely not do something like that. I definitely recommend if you want some outstanding American contemporary comfort food!

Loved this place! Everything on the menu looked great but my favorite appetizer was the caprese garlic bread and the Cajun pasta was the best entree. Jason gave us great service and made the experience better as our waiter. Would recommend going and I will be returning soon!

I stopped in for cake but, decided to stay for lunch. A decision that lead to a fresh, well seasoned, well cooked meal. I had the spicy yum yum bowl which just chicken, rice, zucchini, bell peppers, with fresh cabbage and the sauce. The veggies and meat were grilled and so tasty. All the food is cooked and ready to go do it almost made for a quick bite to eat. I definitely recommend for a good local place to go when you're short on time but still would like a health conscious meal. The lemon cake was also moist and flavorful. Featuring a lemon icing on top with a small amount of a lemon compote.

My husband and I stopped at The Kitchen on our way to Kansas City. Saw google reviews. Nice place, good outdoor seating. Variety of menu. Friendly staff. Lunch time for us. My husband had an Italian salad he enjoyed and I had the BBQ chicken flat bread pizza. It was good. Only ate 1/3. It was definitely shareable. So wanted to try the carrot cake but too full. Would visit here again.
